The Ontario Medical Clinic is a family orientated general practice. The modern, well-appointed and well equipped surgery was built in 1996.
Since opening in 1996 our commitment to provide the best possible care for our patients has distinguished Ontario Medical Clinic amongst the health care profession. We like to offer an environment that is relaxed and friendly, that feels less like a medical practice and more like a safe and caring space.
It is in close proximity to both the Mildura Private Hospital and the Mildura Base Hospital as well as a comprehensive range of specialist providers including Psychiatric, Ancillary services, Radiology and other Allied Health.
We are a fully accredited practice and undergo voluntary AGPAL accreditation to ensure we continually maintain our level of excellence.
Our team have a wide range of knowledge and can provide you and your family with a total package of health care services. These services include Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Travel Medicine, Diabetic Care and minor surgical procedures to name a few.
Our team of doctors are supported by a team of experienced and dedicated nurses, a General Practice Pharmacist and our highly skilled administrative team.
Practice hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, Saturday 8.30am to 11.30am and closed Sunday. After hours emergencies are dealt with by the on call doctor who can be contacted by calling (03) 5023 7311.
Australian Clinical laboratories is located on site. Their hours of operation are 8.00 am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday with no appointment necessary. Australian Clinical laboratories can be contacted on (03) 5023 0162.
The doctors at this clinic are able to prescribe covid-19 antivirals for patients who meet the eligibility criteria. This includes people over the age of 70 and those with serious medical illnesses. You will need to have a phone consultation with your GP or another GP at the clinic. The antiviral medication can have a negative interaction with other medicines so the doctor will need to review this as well as making sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. When you call advise our reception staff that you have tested positive for covid-19, the date that you started experiencing symptoms and that you think you may be eligible for covid-19 antiviral treatment. They will then make sure that you receive an appointment in the timeframe needed. It is important that you call us as soon as you test positive so that treatment can be started as soon as possible.

If you have tested positive for covid-19 via a Rapid Antigen test (RAT) you will need to report this to be eligible for the antiviral medication. This can be done online Report your rapid antigen test result | Coronavirus Victoria or via telephone 1800 675 398
If you have had a positive PCR or have registered a positive RAT there is access to a 24/7 National Coronavirus Helpline (NCH) on 1800 020 080. When you speak to the helpline they will ask about symptoms, previous medical history and be able to assess the level of care that you may need. They will also provide advice on when to seek further care if you become unwell.
Covid-19 positive patients can also access 24/7 care for non-life threatening emergencies from the Victorian Virtual ED https://www.nh.org.au/virtual-emergency-department/ Please do not use this service if you are experiencing shortness of breath, severe chest pain, or weakness down one side of the body. You will need a phone, computer / laptop or tablet with an internet connection and camera, and have an email address to access this service.

We understand that there is a lot of confusion about the information that you are receiving with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. Please be assured that we are still here to help with your healthcare and will continue to do so as long as we are able. If anything changes we will update our website so please keep checking in with us.
We are able to offer telephone consultations during this time however there may be a charge, this will be decided by your doctor. Please let your doctor know if you are not able to pay for consultations.
It is important that you continue to look after your health during what is an incredibly difficult and stressful time for everyone. If you have any questions at all regarding your health or the current Covid-19 outbreak please do not hesitate to call and speak to reception who will be able to connect you with a GP if needed.

Urgent After Hours Care
Situations requiring urgent medical attention during the night, on weekend or public holidays will be attended by the doctor on call. This is a roster basis and the doctor on call may not be your regular doctor.
Please phone the clinic and listen to the recorded message which will tell you how the doctor on call may be contacted.
